New Camel

Me at my parents Christmas Party.

Camel Watercolor, this has a snakeskin imprint going through her face.
Hi I can not believe it is almost Christmas.  In a way I am relieved the shopping is almost over.  Now we can take more time to be with family and enjoy and remember the true meaning  of our Christmas.  I did get a call so my commission went across the bridge as it was meant to. I am so glad. Wishing you a blessed Christmas or holiday.  My love to each of you. Diana

How did I do the snakeskin imprint?  Sadie,my lab,  found a snakeskin,  I poured or you could just wet then apply color, gently place the snakeskin down on the wet wash. There are 2 designs, the top of the snake  and the belly, choose before you place it, l chose the top for this one. I placed a rock to weigh it down and keep  it there. When the wash is dry remove the skin and rock and a gorgeous imprint is there! Hope  this helps!

Merry Christmas

I have been  working  on a new Angry  Chicken  watercolor.

Sadie, my lab, stole the beater from my cookie baking.
Hi, well I have done it now.  I lost the name and # of the gentleman who commissioned me to paint  this chicken. I hope he calls.  I have no way of calling him. I have  learned  something,  write it large and put it in my datebook.  Then I will  have it.  I am so sorry  I hate to disappoint this new customer.  But the painting is all ready should he call. I will let you know.

I got busy and made chocolate chip cookies. These are the best I have ever made.Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips and real butter made the difference, they are rich.  John helped me clean today. That was a blessing. I still have more presents to buy and wrap....

I had a treat today I went to High Point Glassworks, Edith and Ken Platt in Pungoteague  ,Va. Ken made some gorgeous icicles for me for gifts.  He made 3 while  I watched it was amazing, visiting with Edith and Ken was such a lovely time.

Wishing each of you a blessed Christmas and Happy Holidays.  Love to each of you.Diana

Afterwards

Hi,as you can see Sadie, my lab,and I are resting up for the rest of the day. The weekend was wonderful,  l sold 16 originals. Thank you all for your support, all my customers, The Artisan Guild, Ker Place, so many dear people, thank you.

As usual  I am wiped out, l thought we could rest in my recliner, of course,  Sadie has to bring along her chewy bone and then tosses it in the floor as far as
She can to see me try to reach it. If I don't she hangs her head like her heart is broken, I may have spoiled her a tiny bit.

I have one more  art show before Christmas, The Copper  Creations Open House on the 2nd Saturday in December. I have to slow down to revive for a few days.
I am teaching 2 classes this week if  we get enough students signed up.

Our son was home for Thanksgiving and Mama & Daddy came too. John  and Clay helped me break down at the show and clean before dinner. Wish Laura  could have been with us but so glad we got to visit on the phone.

I have my nativity set out bUT still  so much to do... I love Maywyn s post..

Take it slow, enjoy your holiday, blessings  and love to each of you, love, Diana

HI Everyone, Pictured above are some of my watercolors. I had a webpage for about 6 years, a friend of mine made it for me and she died. She was a dear, missed deeply. So last  year when it came up for renewal, I didn't renew it. I've found facebook creates more interest than a website. Sad but true. These were a few of my work from the website.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.. I have an art show in 2 weeks.. Eastern Shore Artisan Guild Tour. I will be at Ker Place in Onancock,Va. with about 5 other artists. It is the day after Thanksgiving... yes I'm cooking. ha ha.. my plan is to have everything ready for the show the day before T. We will see.  Hope to see some local folks drop by!
I'm zonked today.. Definitely going to have some more coffee later.  Love to each of  you,Diana

Two new little watercolors, turnip greens and jelly bean.

Wild Mushrooms  original watercolor, 8x10, 99 dollars.

Little  Chickadee, 8x10, 99.
Hi  eveyone, this week I picked up my work  from the Eastern Shore Art League  Member  show. I picked up Monelle s work too.

John brought me a huge bag of turnip  greens so that took 3 hours to clean, pick them and cook them. Whew... it was a job. But they will be for Thanksgiving, Christmas  aND a tiny bowl for now. They are yummy.

I worked on both of these little paintings this week. We have mushrooms popping up everywhere in the yard. No idea don't  know which ones  are  edible but these are not.. the Camilla was growing in my parents  yard and smelled so sweet. Cupcake  plucked each petal off the blooms after I got it painted.

Our  little black kitty is coming around,  very loving. John named her Jelly bean. Sadie has had more knee aching this week but I give her a pain pills if she needs it.

Sending  you love, Diana

An Artist's Day

Glads and Hummingbird, 16 x20, $330 original framed.  Now at Stage Door Gallery.

The sweetheart dog visiting Stage Door today.
Vera, Clelia and Michael, accepting artwork for opening of "Magic" Holiday Art Show at Stage Door Gallery.

Mama, Vera, and Clelia, as John Nyberg is taking down his vibrant paintings from last show.
HI , sorry I've been so long in writing. I had to take some new watercolors to Stage Door Gallery , part of Artscenter in Cape Charles,Va yesterday. Mama went with me. Pictured above is the gallery, with Clelia, Vera, and Michael accepting the new artwork for the Christmas and Holiday Show. It's always a very festive and lovely show with ideas for gifts small and larger. So I took down  some work and they now have 9 originals of mine. One of which pictured above.  Hard to believe it is getting that time of year. Isn't it??

On the way back home we stopped at Appleseed Nursery, a delightful and happy place. So many pumpkins, it just makes me happy to see them all. I bought one little yellow pansy and a tiny pumpkin for me and Mama.  This is in Cheriton.

Then last we stopped at Machipongo Trading Co. for lunch and discovered Gertraud Fendler, a dear friend and she is a jewelry artist of Sea Glass, was there so we visited as we ate yummy grilled sandwiches and iced coffee. It was a nice day.

Sadie, our lab is doing fine, Cupcake, our kitty too.. We have good news. We caught the last Feral Kitten, a tiny black one, we have given away 2 kittens recently. So very glad this is the last one. She is precious with big green eyes. We have her in the bathroom adapting to life as a domestic kitty, so lots of petting and purring going on.

Wishing each of you a wonderful week. love to each of you,Diana

Wiped Out!! and Last of NBG SHOW!!

Hydrangea Bean Vine at Norfolk Botanical Garden.

HI! Sorry I haven't been blogging lately. I've truly been exhausted from getting my show up at Norfolk Botanical Garden. I painted so much and now I have a show coming up with Eastern Shore Art League and need to paint and can't seem to get one going. I do have a flower painting that I"ve been working on. You can see it on Facebook but it is too small for this show.  But one afternoon when I was wiped out Beth called and said come have a boat ride and Charlie her black lab went too. It was so delightful and truly I felt so much better afterwards. No Sadie didn't go this time.  I'm still trying to take it easy on her knee, after her surgery.

Sad to say my show at NBG is almost over. This weekend and Monday and Tuesday are the last 2 days. I've sold 5 and 3 before I got to the show so it's been good. Hope if you get a chance you will go by and see it. Baker Hall, 53 original watercolors all by me. No wonder I'm zonked still!!! Have a wonderful weekend and please check out my Facebook Page when you get time too. love to all, Diana
Beth and Charlie took me for a lovely boat ride!
