What could be in that hole??and Little ES Landscape

New paintings to frame for show..

ES Mini Landscape, Bayford,Va.

OH MY IS she in trouble...
HI, Well. I started drawing the little landscape outside, sitting next to the pine tree with my board in my lap, sweetly drawing and noticed she(Sadie the Puppy) was gone.... into the woods.

I found her by a large pine root ball which had fallen over and left a hole under it.. oh blasted what could be in that hole...

I envisioned an animal poking it's head out and biting her nose.oh no.. she came up from the hole with a dead squirrel. A Long Pause from me.. oh NO..

We ran around the backyard, and John said I never exercise... ha... I tried cheese.. I yelled-- but it's Cabot Cheese.. the good cheese.( I guess this wouldn't work for a commercial would it??? )  not even a sniff.. However canned catfood did it and I grabbed the object, thrust it into a plastic bag and put it on the roof of the playhouse. John said he hopes a buzzard comes for it.. ha ha..

Good grief. I need the peace and solace I get from painting..Hope you have a peaceful fall weekend. love to you,Diana

  1. Now didn't she lead you on a merry chase!! LOLOL At least you follow through to the end of these fiascos! Considering the dead body and all, I'd probably have kept her butt outside until Daddy came home and let him deal with it. I don't do dead animals, or bugs, and a dog sure likes that stink of the decaying, don't they? LOL

Anyway, love the little matted spread of paintings you've shared. They all look so lovely!

  4. Oh Sadie you little devil. Our dogs really do rule the house and our lives, don't they. But life wouldn't be the same without them. Love your landscape. Also all your others especially the crab. Have a peaceful rest of your weekend. Be good Sadie.

  6. Such lovely paintings! Sherlock has yet to disappear down a hole, but there was a dog at the vets the other day covered in bite marks from a badger, from doing just that! Poor lamb!

  7. Diana I am not sure which I enjoy most when I visit...your gorgeous art or Sadie's antics. The vision of you chasing her around with a dead squirrel is embedded in my mind. Hope you find some peace...what is it about dogs and cat food? Mine love it too!!

  8. ha ha Sandra just recommend I visit as my puppy is a teenage nightmare (you might like my post http://www.suepownallartist.co.uk/1/post/2013/09/good-morning.html ). I've had to prise various animals from her mouth but luckily nothing as large as a dead squirrel.

Nearly forgot - like the paintings here. Off to now to check out more of your work.
