A Grumpy Rooster Watercolor

No more chickens for a while. I know. I was on the phone sitting at my art table with a blank piece of paper and out it comes another chicken. I feel much like this rooster this week.. lots of red.. flames in the back, grumpy, yes, it definitely could be me. I will move on to other subjects.. but what..I don't know. Any ideas? Tell me what you are working on.  Next week I'll try not to be a grumpy thing!..

It's ok. I'm not upset about it,but we can't see the puppies for a few weeks to protect them from germs  and so we'll just enjoy photos when she sends them.  Happy Weekend. Love,Diana

  1. oh you make me laugh Diana. Grumpy? we must have caught the same bug .LOL
and especially the artists block .. I'm not doing another flower! It's like you chickens and roosters. !!!!
I need to get out of the house more, travel, take pictures of exotic places etc.
oh listen to me, I'm just a 'houseplant' is all. So frustrated about subjects to paint, so I'm doing a drawing of an elephant. !! OMG !
    Desperation. !!!
You will see those puppies soon enough Good that they are so careful... .. BJ

  2. He does look grumpy! Some days are just like that. It's good you could express it in a funny painting.

I'm working on yet another version of the Pawlings Farm barn in Valley Forge National Park. One of these days I'll nail it, hopefully for a juried exhibit coming up in April at Mill Grove, the first home of John James Audubon. I need to get back to blogging. Can't seem to get back into the swing of it - rather read everyone else's.

Oh those puppies...they don't grow fast enough at first and then they are all grown up all of a sudden. Poppy is 1 year old today! She was just a baby wasn't she?!! :-)

Cheer up. The gloomies will pass soon.

  5. Foghorn Leghorn instantly comes to mind. I don't know why. I love this guy's expression and that is ok about the puppies too. Better to be safe than sorry. Maybe after they get their first shots.
