Vegetable Still Life and My Sadie

hi, Here is Sadie, our lab. She went to the doctor  today. She has an infection of her incision. She over did it at the drs. Sadie gets so excited she leaps and jumps and I am on the other end of the leash trying to control her. But she has an antibotic and needs to rest, and will be fine.

I tried to post the painting first but am still learning this tablet.  I went to this lovely vegetable stand near Harborton, Va.  Eva grows and makes everything  there, crusty bread ,soups, all kinds of fresh organic veggies. I used some of them to paint.  These are Dana, my nieces Sunflowers, gorgeous. I decided  to do the checkerboard but stopped  midway when I liked it. I did not paint each black  square.

My class was really great Saturday. The garden was so beautiful and everyone did beautiful sunflower paintings. Thank you all.

Talk to you soon, love to everyone, Diana

  1. Love this painting, Diana. The checkers through the vegetables is a super cool effect and I'm trying to figure out how you did it! Kind of ghostly images and I love that effect!

  4. I love the veggie painting Diane! So sorry that Sadie is poorly... Sherlock is not great either because now his left leg is fine, he has started limping on his right!! It's so sad because he seemed over all that! I hope it doesn't mean another op, but it looks likely :0(

  7. Iwish I was closer so I could take some classes from you. I love this one checkerboard and all. Sadie is such a love. She is adored from a far! We have had an extremely hot summer with no rain at all. But today it started raining and I went out and just stood there smiling. I hope this helps the fire danger and all the poor trees that have been suffering.

  8. Thanks Sharon, I love your work and your blog, how are your puppies? ? So gad for your rain! Yes,BJ you know me well. How are you doing? ?Kathryn she is running she is supposed to take it easy, thanks for the comment on the painting.oh,no Sandra, I hope Sherlock is ok. He is a sweetheart. Thanks Debbie, she is going to be ok? Yes it has Maywyn, I have been eating lots of tomato sandwich esthanks Sherry, it really is simple. I did my pour first, then I measured with a ruler one inch and marked them across the top, then down the side then bottom making sure the lines would be straight, the other side. Once I had the grid on the paper I drew my drawing. Then did the veggies in different colors per block and last did the black boxes. Try it. Love to each of you and thank you for the prayers andlove, Diana
