Beginning of Watercolor and Sadie ran after a Tractor Trailer Truck!!

HI, I started another Heron painting today. I drew 2 herons onto my pour of blues and have started adding the color..but I didn't get much done because...

Sadie  ran into the road and chased a tractor trailer truck  and disappeared. I was running after her.. although I will admit the moment she took out after that truck I froze and can't say How I got running but I did.. I was terrified..Nowhere.. I didn't see her anywhere..oh my gosh.. I thought she was hurt and crumpled somewhere. I jumped into the car..as I was backing out of the driveway she ran from the nursery across the road into our yard. I hooked her to her leash and Scolded, and yes-- with a few taps to the backside. and Yelled.. poor baby but she has to understand she can't go into the road.. She's fine..she was tired and I washed her face and neck.. but she is fine. Beth, our dear friend came over and gave us hugs.. but we are fine.

Too much excitement for me. She has never done anything like this before.. I was with her..   I took her out on the leash later.. she hated it but I felt much better.

love to each of you and hope you had a calm day.. Diana

  1. What a monkey! I hate tying/leashing animals, too, but if it is for their safety, then it is worth it.

  6. How scary. There is a collar to break dogs of doing dangerous things like this. You put it on their neck and you hold a control in your hand. When the dog chases a car, you push a button...........and it sends a electical shock to the dog. It does not damage or extremely hurt the dog, just enough to say, don't do this becuase this is the result. The dog will associate the truck or car as the sorce of pain and will stop chasing them. I have seen the Dog Whisperer help a couple on thier farm with their dog, who chases farm machinery and has lost an eye because of it. It did stop him. Only a couple of times, and they never had to use the collar again.

  8. Oh Sadie , Sadie, Sadie you are just full of puppy pranks aren't you. Now give mom a break. OK. My Teddy got away from me in the parking lot of our local hardware store. He had me in a real panic! Then he went in the store and ran every isle until a nice man caught him for me.Everyone was saying how cute he was. I kept saying to him just you wait til we get to the car.LOL what a memory. Have you thought about the Invisible Fence. The dog wears a collar that will give a light shock if they cross over the fence line. They have free run within the fence but will learn not to cross over. My neighbors have it for their chocolate lab and it works very well. Just a thought.
    Love your heron painting.
