Chickadee and Dogwood

Chickadee and Dogwood, 8x10. $99 framed.  Original
Sadie, my precious Labrador, now laying in my lap. 85 lbs. Of love smushing me. I am so thankful  and a tiny bit number. Ha ha

I can't believe  it is February,  where did time go. I have been teaching  a class  at ESO in Belle Haven, Va. Just 2 students but we have been learning  and having  a good time and producing beautiful  watercolors. Four weeks, this one Thursday will be  the last one.  This Saturday  I  will be teaching at Norfolk Botanical Garden, Chickadee  and Dogwood. Like  the one above. Later this month  the first show of the year  Eastern Shore Heritage Festival at Eastern Shore Community College in Melfa, Va.  I have been working on an old tractor  ,I am not sure of the background  yet,
any suggestions?  My love to each of you, Diana

  1. Beautiful paintings. The background I'll leave to your good judgement. Sadie is as precious as ever. Happy Painting!

    1. Thanks May, I am thinking trees for background. We will see. Sadie is my shadow or I am hers, grey days are hard for me. Thanks and love, Diana

  2. Lovely, lovely paintings-always! Your tractor reminded me of an artist's work I recently saw at Etsy. All his work is of old machinery and rusty things-but somewhere on that, perching like it belongs on the old junk-is a lovely bird. I love that kind of contrast-it makes such a bold statement.
I'm so glad Sadie is well-she sure is a lover girl.
Love to you-sure wish I could take your classes....

    1. Thank you Debra, I love old rusty tractors, I am using Quinacrodone Burnt Orange, kinda a souped up Burnt sienna. I had thought about a bird, I bet that does look good. Yes I don't know what I would do without my Sadie, I would love for you to paint with me wish we were closer. Love to you , Diana
