Hot Flowers in Watercolor

New watercolor painting I'm working on now..

Sadie is under my table keeping me company while I paint.

John gave me flowers for our anniversary and ice cream.
Hi Everyone, I've been working on this painting all week. I drew it on a great pour. Then struggled with the flowers composition, adding a few garden flowers to the mix really made it difficult. I did it anyway. Ha. Then colors. I'm in a show called HOT at Stage Door Gallery. I'm painting with HOT colors in mind. I changed the color of the vase to not distract from the pour and colors. I'm really thinking way too much. Just paint it. Anyway. Here is what I've come up with so far. As you can see I'm still working on it, but I'm very pleased with it now. I may add a male hummingbird  sitting on the bottom tulip, just because I love the little rascals and they are everywhere here now, zooming by. Sadie is keeping me company after she chomped up my flower pot outside. Tell me what you are doing today.

 Love to you all ,Diana

  1. Happy Anniversary!
I like the heart shape reference without being an actual heart in the painting.

  2. Painting coming along beautifully, Diana! Love to see Sadie relax; she is always into or up to something! That pink/red tulip is a gorgeous "hot" color!

Looking good and show us when it's finished.
Sadie is a real sweetie, and reminds me of how Angie stayed right there with me... love it ... Barbra
