Better

I filled up my palette with fresh color just now.

Here's Sadie, sleeping with her foot pressed up on mine when I sit down at the art table.
HI, Thank each of you for your beautiful messages to my last post. Things are going better. If only we were close enough for a cup of coffee and a visit I'd be pouring my heart out to each of you. You are dear friends and so supportive. Thank you. Yes,things are better.

I"ve just filled my palette for class tomorrow. I'm teaching at Norfolk Botanical Garden on Azaleas. They are blooming in all pinks, whites, and reds.. sounds gorgeous. I'm looking forward to seeing it and painting it and helping others paint it.

I took a long walk today in the nursery across from our house. I saw paw prints of deer and raccoon.( The raccoon prints look like little hands,so adorable.  Laura, my daughter did a school report on paw prints when she was 9 or so...amazing what we learn from our kids.) The deer prints are more like 2 elongated V s,delicate and lovely.
Nature is such a gift, isn't it.

Sending you each a hug, love and have a delightful weekend. Tell me about it. Diana

  1. All great de-stressors: walking, blooming flowers, and filling your palette with new paint!

  2. Hahaha ... I love studying paw prints, trying to decipher and imagine who made them. :)
Thank you for your comment on the poor rose. I'd prefer NOT to use masking fluid, but when I am doing a larger piece that requires a really dark background, I have no choice.
    Hugs to you and Sadie!

  3. Look at that gorgeous bubble gum pink color on your palette! What color is it, Diana? I've learned quite a few new things when my kids were in school too...such as the difference between waxing and waning moons, the fact that lightening comes from the ground, not the sky...that there was such a thing as a kookaburra... Sadie looks adorable. My favorite time with my animals is when they are sleeping.
