Here we go. I've worked again on my herons today. I like the abstract blues wandering thru so I think I'm almost done. What do you think?? I want the herons
to stand out but not be overdone. I"m going to look at it for a few days and decide. The blues here are ultramarine blue and thalo blue. Those are the only blues I use. What blues do you like?? Talk to you tomorrow... Sadie, the puppy is sulking, she just got her flea med. put on her back..love to each of you,Diana

A sulking Sadie is a quiet Sadie? Maybe a good thing now and again?! LOL I like this piece just as it is. It is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSherlock had his done yesterday too! He also hates it!
ReplyDeleteI love Cerulean blue... It's a gorgeous colour!
Your Herons are just beautiful as they are :0)
I can't imagine you over doing a painting.
ReplyDeleteAs for blues, I've been looking at photos where the camera adds lavender to the blues. I've begun using purples for shading. Prussian blue is my favorite next to cobalt blue.
What a beautiful painting!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the abstract look, too, Diana! Beautiful!

I think the Herons looks just perfect. No need for doing anything more. Looking very nice! The blues that use most lately is Antwerp blue, Frensh Ultramarin and Paynes gray. I have others too but I don´t use them that often. Those are Winsor blue red shade and Winsor blue green shade. Winsor & Newton recomended them as primary colours. Those two plus Frensh Ultramarine. I also like best to paint with transparent colours, so I also choose from that.
ReplyDeleteDiana - these Herons do look finished to me. I love the blues - there are so many to pick from. I use a lot of Cobalt blue and Ultramarine. Thanks so much for sharing dear. Sadie doesn't look very happy.
