Happy Father's Day!

HI, Here is a photo from our Paint Out at Bob and Sara Lentz's home near Pungoteague,Va. This was a gathering of the Eastern Shore Art League, we all brought a dish and shared and Bob and Sara had chicken. I took my Fresh Apple Cake. We all painted inside,as it was a very rainy day but their yard is right on the water nestled in Loblolly Pines,with flowers everywhere. I was so disappointed my camera batteries died but I did enjoy painting one of his Japanese iris and had a fantastic lunch with friends. Pictured above from left to right,Willie, Adelaide, Me, Monelle, Dottie and Mary. Basil, their beagle wandered around and visited with us. ha ha. Wishing  you all a Happy Father's Day! Bluebird on Frozen Watercolor and Happy New Year!

HI! I did have a wonderful Christmas, and I hope you did too. I've had some problems with my website,which has been frustrating. I don't know how to do a website and it was gone..so it was just a stirring mess for awhile which is much better now.Advice-- make sure you have all your information!! the numbers you need to have- to find it... I thought I did but did not...

Here is a new little bluebird I painted  yesterday. I was tickled with the background. The blues on the edge of the wash formed into the ice crystals. Here's how== Clear water on your watercolor paper, then drop the color onto the wash, then place it outside to ice up, and here I did it at the edges. I'm going to experiment with this edging ice today as the temperature is supposed to drop into the teens,perfect for placing your watercolor washes outside to freeze. We do have some strong winds so it may be a challenge. ha ha.. If you try it let me know how it goes!! We've had some snow,just a touch. Here on the Shore we don't get huge amounts so it's always exciting to see Snow!

Yes, Sadie,my dear puppy, loved the snow, but not the wind so much. We lost 2 lob lolly pines on the edge of the yard last night.

HI! Last November I did the BLogmo. Just now I saw Catherine is doing it again  which reminded me ,so I'm going to try. Each Day blog for a month. I haven't signed up I will.. I've been busy all day preparing for my class tomorrow. Yesterday, I painted this pine as I sat in the backyard. It was quick but I like the looseness of it and the list is what I was thinking about.. what are your requirements for a great painting. Just jot down what comes to mind.. these are mine.. and I painted the stack of erasers on my art table at the bottom of it.. ha ha.. Dear Sadie has been bad today.. she has tried to eat everything. I think she knows I won't be here tomorrow.. she'll be with John.. who doesn't cater to her like I do. She is chewing on Clay--our son's tennis shoe.. I got it away from her before she tore it .. Watercolor Of E.S. Nursery

The dogs and I walked in the nursery today. It is a beautiful,warm,sunny day. Here is a photo of my watercolor painting of this Eastern Shore nursery. It was a commission. Today the lob lolly pine trees are swaying in the breeze and both dogs had a delightful time sniffing and exploring as I enjoyed the time with them and nature. Last summer we walked there and came upon a row of gorgeous Japanese Hydrangeas, I was in awe of the beauty and stopped for a couple of minutes to look, when I was ready to continue I looked and Daisy, our lab had taken time to enjoy herself too. She was laying in a HUGE mud puddle near my feet looking up at me!That's my girl! talk soon, Diana
