Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, blessings to you all

Hi Everyone,  hard to believe it is Christmas time and holidays are here. I just finished  this Masa technique in Watercolor poinsettia watercolor . I started it in my class at Norfolk Botanical Garden . That was last weekend , this weekend was Copper Creations Christmas Open House . I had a good show. Now to shopping for Christmas . 

Sadie by our Christmas  tree. It smells  so good. OUR ornaments are mostly homemade by the children,  l am so thankful. 

Here is my class at NBG. They enjoyed the Masa technique .

Shows and Sadie

Well the picture  won't  come up. Ha ..oh well..I will just tell you I am in the Mighty Miniatures Art Show at Lisel Frederick Gallery in Onancock,  which is owned by Mary Clements.  I have 6 paintings in the show , it continues  until Jan. The 6th so stop in.

The ESARTISAN Guild Tour is coming up Nov. 29th and 30th I will be showing my lovely watercolors at The Ker Place in Onancock, Va. Hope to see you there. With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming more shows.

Franktown United Methodist Church Fine Art Show and Bazaar

Little Wren Painting and Sadie


Hi, I painted most of today . I really love the little birds that come to visit our feeders. The Carolina Wren is so mischievous it is one of my favorites . Went with Sadie on our path into the forest to gather leaves. Sadie takes a toy outside  when we go out. I  usually have my coffee cup. I get the feeling she thinks that is my toy. 😄 happy autumn. Getting Ready for Class

Almost bedtime, I am reading Into the Wilderness by Sara Donati. I am really enjoying it and I read each night before I go to sleep. Here is a monarch watercolor  I did , this is the subject with wildflowers for my class.

FallAgain!



New commission of a dog portrait,  a new owl painting of a barred owl and a page in the sketchbook project. A turtle shell and acorns. Sadie is doing fine. The #esvaartisansguild is having a party tonight so I am going bringing an apple cake and brownies .  Sadie and John will be answering the phone . Good Summer!



I painted a small landscape of Belle Haven,Va. I am getting ready for Art Rocks the Inns, a small art show in Cape Charles. Artists will be on the porches of Bed and Breakfast Inns . It will be fun.  I also painted a new Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly and of course here is our Sadie. She is eating a sunflower.  She and I planted 4 packs of seeds and finally they bloomed. Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly and Negative Painting

First I did a pour then drew my butterfly.  Started the wings and picked some wild honeysuckle from the backyard. Drew that then painted around it in the colors of the pour. I love negative painting.  This has taken some time as my sciatica is acting up l have more to do on it as you can see. I am getting better still resting though. Hi Everyone this is my new sunflower watercolor.
I finished it this week after my commission. I started withe drawing ,then the background,  then to the main flower. I adore sunflowers they are so happy. Hope you like it like i do . Barrier Island Center, Birthday, Class

John, at Art and Music on the Farm at Barrier Island Center.  We were getting ready to pack up. He helps me so much hauling the paintings and equipment.  

Here is Aunt Pat and me ready to go to lunch at the Island House Restaurant in Wachapreague for my birthday.  Mama and Daddy had John and I to dinner that night too. A full day. We got to visit Nancy too a dear friend.

Art& Music on the Farm Saturday at Barrier Island Center


Hi, this weekend is Memorial Day weekend and I will be showing my lovely watercolors at The Barrier Island Center in Machipongo, Va. On the Eastern Shore.  40 artists will be there with yummy food, good coffees
Wine ,beer, flowers... a true festival..if u are nearby come.it is always a beautiful time.  Sadie is 6 years old, can u believe it.   She is by my side everyday. I have one more painting to frame yippee. . Hope you are painting , sending you love ,Diana

Visiting at Perennial Roots Farm

Kahn Lundy showed me his and Natalie 's precious farm. I got to see Kuhn Kuhn pigs, more pigs, geese, a baby lamb, sheep, so many wonderful creatures and you know me I was in heaven. I forgot to take my camera as it was a blast minute drop in. A treasure for me

Lemon Tree Gallery and Studio in Cape Charles

Today was exchange day at Lemon Tree Gallery and Studio in Cape Charles. I enjoyed visiting with Friends and seeing all the lovely art. Diane Ginsberg is the featured artist so it will be a stunning show.

ART Opening, Baker Hall, Norfolk Botanical Garden

I have 50 originals in the show. Mama ddid great with her knee surgery which was just a few days before,  I am so thankful she is ok.  Sadie is doing fine, she turned 6 last month, hard to believe. Shows, painting, thankful, busy

Hi wow February,  can you believe it.  Today was warm in the 60s. Sadie, our lab and I enjoyed walking in the woods , it was so beautiful.  I have been painting as much as possible Showtime soon. Next weekend  is my class on landscapes at Norfolk Botanical Garden.  Then Eastern Shore Community College from 10AM TO 3pm is the Heritage Festival Feb 23. Then Mama has knee surgery  and then I take my work to Norfolk Botanical Garden for my one Man Show March and April.  I feel pressured  to paint  but it is coming along. Owl CLASS wow amazing!

This is Astrid,  the Screech Owl. They brought  them to my art class. We had the joy of painting  and drawing  them from life. Such gorgeous owls and ladies. We were totally excited  and all did a beautiful job.  CLASS was full at 13 students  at the Norfolk Botanical Garden. Thank you to NNWR and NBG . What a wonderful,  once in a lifetime CLASS.
