Rooster Watercolor in Yellow Checks,Sister, and Divine Candy Eggs

Hi! My Sister came from Richmond,Va. today and spent the day at my parents home. Here she is with my mom and with me and in each the wonderful homemade peanut butter chocolate eggs she made for us for Easter. yummy... so very yummy..

I've been working on the rooster too today. I did the checks in yellow. I love Cad. Yellow Dark. Sadie,our lab is fine. I played ball with her outside and now she is sitting beside me. Soon time to fix supper. I'll put the painting up so I can check it out as I work on dinner. No, I don't have a clue what it will be yet.. the supper. Take care and talk to you Soon, love,Diana

A Grumpy Rooster Watercolor

No more chickens for a while. I know. I was on the phone sitting at my art table with a blank piece of paper and out it comes another chicken. I feel much like this rooster this week.. lots of red.. flames in the back,grumpy,yes, it definitely could be me. I will move on to other subjects.. but what..I don't know. Any ideas? Tell me what you are working on.  Next week I'll try not to be a grumpy thing!..

It's ok. I'm not upset about it,but we can't see the puppies for a few weeks to protect them from germs  and so we'll just enjoy photos when she sends them.  Happy Weekend. Love,Diana

Relaxing and Painting

Well I painted a little on my rooster today. It feels so good to paint. Relaxing. I'm still over stuffed. :) and I told the men I'm kinda tired of feasting .. Turkey chili might be good for tomorrow. Fresh Frog and Painting with Monelle

HI! Today I spent the day at my friend Monelle's painting. She was working on a steer, and an orange kitty. I worked on this little frog painting. I've still got plenty to do to finish him. One rooster is almost done.We had lunch out at China Chef and enjoyed painting.

 J. brought me some veggies from a farm stand. I know.. we live in the country but here in the trees we don't have enough sun for a vegetable garden. I've tried-- but there are lots of farm stands! Only problem is I usually have to paint them before we eat them- Do you do this?

 Here is our kitty,Rudy. She's 17 years old but decided to crawl in this bag. She's always been J.'s kitty. Daisy was mine. She is a nice kitty but we've never been very close,now she purrs in my arms---as if to comfort me. talk to you soon, Diana

Angry Chicken

Just was on the porch working on my new chicken. He's very similar to the other one but his cone goes the other way and of course the colors in his neck are different. I had such fun doing it and the next show is Art on the Farm at the Barrier Island Center in Machipongo. I've got a couple of weeks to do some more and frame too.It's on May 26th, this Saturday I have my class on hummingbirds at Norfolk Botanical Gardens. I love to go there-- the gardens are so inspiring. Next I was thinking about the red pepper.. we'll see. talk to you soon.Diana

Painting with the Generator Guys

HI,two generator installers were here today. While they were here I painted,I worked on the wisteria painting-the wisteria flower on my art table is quickly drying up but still smells heavenly.

Then I was going thru some paper and found this little piece and knew it was this rooster. I hope I just finished him. It may take another glaze to the background. We'll see how it dries. I need a title any ideas..

Thank goodness I found some soup in the freezer. I just popped that into the microwave for supper. I'm wiped out! ha ha.. talk to you soon!Diana
PS I ordered these paints from Jerry's about a month ago and yippee they arrived! I had to put the yellow on my rooster's eyes!

Quick Rooster Watercolor

Hi! The show was wonderful, lots of people,lots of friends, Smith Island Cake, and Sales. Yesterday I went down to The Stage Door Gallery for their painting exchange. I took 3 new paintings there. I asked my mother to go with me and we had a nice time. On the way back up the road we stopped at Appleseed Nursery and bought some freshly picked gourds and pumpkins. Here are a few we bought. They are so cute. I know I've got to paint them! Today I had some errands so I did a quick rooster painting. I sometimes think when we paint something fast we capture the essence of it. I had to put a few more checkerboard squares in this one. No more for awhile,I promise. take care and talk to you soon, Enjoy the smell of the leaves and that sweetness in the evening. More Rooster

HI, well guess what I did yesterday, yes, I painted little squares, and more little squares! I did the tail first because I'm still thinking about the neck area.. I'd like to leave some of that white with drips in it. I'll keep moving that way today and see what I decide. So far I love him. What do you think? talk to you soon, more coffee and back to painting! A New Rooster and Daylily

hi! This morning I've been working on a new rooster. I've used irridescent powder on his tail feathers, rice paper with gold highlights and even scraped red paint on his cone.Monelle painted one ,too!

The day lily is from yesterday. Still got a lot to do on that.. Frames come in tomorrow..
