Demonstration in Va.Beach,Va. Tomorrow!

I'll be doing a demonstration for the Chesapeake Bay Watercolorists tomorrow from 2-4pm at the Kempsville Library in Virginia Beach,Va. Wish me luck. I'm honored to be doing it. I'll be showing them my pouring technique and how I paint hummingbirds in watercolor! love to each of you,Diana

Frog and Being Together!

HI, I got the rest of my Thanksgiving shopping done, walked Sadie, and framed a little. Will get the rest of the framing done tomorrow am,then go set it up at Smiling Dolphin. Here is an old photo of Sadie as a baby with Rudy as her protector. She was afraid that night and ran to the cat for protection. A frog watercolor I did awhile back. I used the pour to shape the leaves and vines.and then negatively painted around them!. very simple but I liked it.. and it was so much fun. Talk to you tomorrow. Love,Diana

Hi! Yesterday was my class at Norfolk Botanical Garden. Amy found us some lovely Canna. Most were finished blooming. The color on these were bright orange yellow with striped leaves. First we did exercises in blending and basic watercolor, then we poured, after the paintings dried and we had lunch outside in the garden, we drew and continued to painted them. Everyone did a great job!! As I was leaving I took some photos of the banana trees?( I think that's what they are.) John, my husband, bought us dinner from El Maguey, so I didn't have to cook. I'm zonked,as usual after class.

I've prepared some Masa paper for painting a few minutes ago. I'm trying to dry it quickly on top of the clothes dryer, I've got some outside on the porch drying too.

Benefit Last Night

Here's some photos of last night. I was taking the photos so none of me.. I did finish the painting. It's a landscape from a pour I did yesterday afternoon.  Here's Carol in the back and Lois in the front. They left early, I stayed until it was over. Painting the whole time, I started a new one of orchids. You know how I love flowers. Hospice is a wonderful organization and I hope they got plenty for our paintings. Here's our little Sadie..
