Heard the Whippourwill and More Hydrangea Watercolor

HI, I'm still working on the hydrangea watercolor. I decided that lacy green one wasn't doing much --I'm not sure I remember it well and it looked too rigid so I've changed it to a lace cap hydrangea which we have in the backyard. This was one of my grandmother's-- from one of her's. She had a lot of hydrangeas near her back door. I don't think I want to detail them too much more but I do want to add the luna moth.

We are having bad weather today, a storm is coming up the coast and so it's been raining all day. Last night I heard the Whippourwill-- this bird is not a beauty but has a lovely voice-- in the back yard.. I only hear them in summer and at night. They sound so dreamy. Sadie heard too and headed for the door. She's building up her bravery slowly. A frog scared her too.  I love living in the woods.

Wishing each of  you a safe weekend with ton's of fun. love,Diana

  2. I agree with Barbara Joan....wish I could be part of your class!
The rain is heavy up here, too. I'm packing for a 4 day workshop & over-obsessing about which photos to take. It never fails that I leave home what I want & take what I don't need.
Sadie is such a sweetie! Enjoy your weekend!

  3. We got a lot of that rain as we are traveling this weekend to PA and then RI to see family. Hope things were OK on the eastern shore. Sadie is growing fast.

  7. The painting is looking beautiful!
Sherlock heard loud thunder for the first time last week - It was loud enough to make me jump, but he didn't seem remotely bothered - Too interested in his bone! I'm relieved because our last dog, Codi was terrified of thunder! :0)

  8. Diana - you have really captured the beauty of these flowers. Can't wait to see your moth. I don't think I have ever heard a whippoorwill - now that is something for my bucket list! Glad to hear Sadie is getting braver. Have a great week and as always thanks for sharing.
