HI! I think it's finished. I added some metallic gold watercolor to the left top "blossoms"of color and then a little around the full bloom. I want to keep it simple to show off the stargazer.(I'll take the blue tape off before I frame it! ha ha)
Well - I'm almost afraid to say but here goes. I called about another yellow Labrador Puppy today. I'd been in the Western Auto Store in Exmore over 2 months ago... and Jason, the young man who owns the store had his Chocolate Lab walking around the store.. You know me. I was rubbing the dog's ears, and talking to him while Jason finished up with his first customer..Then I got talking about my Daisy(trying not to cry) and he said he'd bred his dog for the first time recently. I called him. So the young(Chocolate) mama lab is pregnant, his is the father and he's going to hold a yellow one for me when it's born around Aug. 1st. or so. He knows from xrays there are 6 puppies at least she is carrying. So Let's Hope again.. dare I.. it hurt so much before.. but I will hope... and let you know
The Blue tape is 3M Scotch-Blue Painter's Tape. I just got it the other day--it doesn't want to stay in place well, but it does peel off easily.. not my favorite, but nice color!
Let me know what you think about the lily painting. talk to you soon,Diana

Diana, your lily painting is beautiful and well done of course... I always like when a bud is included.. I want to learn that pouring .. I've read on it watched some videos, but no on does it better than you.
ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons I want to get good at it is that like you I usually paint a flower or 2 or 3 and leaving a white background always leaves something to be desired.
About the pup... ?? You know I'll be excited for you... will write soon.. BJ
oh! Did I ever tell you , your verification codes drive me nuts ???!!! Yesterday I had my nose pressed up against the screen to see it..
ReplyDeleteand I have a good sized monitor on my desk top... Forget it if I were on my netbook! LOL !!!
Diana, I hope so much you get your puppy! I'll keep my fingers crossed. And thank you for answering the tape question.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know what tape you do find that you like, Diana. I've noticed the same thing with the blue painters tape. That said, I've used regular masking tape before too and it isn't always perfect workings either.
ReplyDeleteThe final piece is just truly so soft and lovely. I'm excited for your puppies to come!! Would two chocolate labs produce a yellow lab? Just curious...
I use the blue painter's tape as well - I have gotten used to the strong blue tape around my work until the final strokes ... is really good for keeping everything flat.
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely ...
Fingers crossed for the pup - sometimes it's worth the wait .. and if it's meant to be it will be the one for you xx
Fingers crossed & good wishes sent
