Paint no matter what

Long time since I have signed in. I'm so very sorry . I had 2 foot surgeries this year. First a Bunionectomy which actually made my foot worse, then surgery to correct the first surgery, a toe fusion which I am healing from now. I know what has this got to do with my art, well, just about everything.  I haven't been able to do my art shows, missed a few classes to teach and learned to Paint in the recliner. We moved last year too, so now we are on the water and not in my little forest. A beautiful place but I do miss the inspiration of wandering around the woods. My Dad just died 2 weeks ago. I miss him so much. So as you can see I'm still painting but have had a lot going on. I just wanted to catch you up and say keep painting and drawing I am. Love Diana

Happy New Year, Bird Paintings and Sadie

Sadie is fine. I just thought I'd put a snuggly photo on. Right now she is in my lap. My foot is slowly getting better and I do mean slllooowlly. It is exasperating.  I teach next weekend,  John won't be going with me to Norfolk so I will have to do all the hauling and walking myself. I hope I can do it. I 've sold 3 paintings this week. Mostly little bird paintings,  one thru a gallery this is good, I am tickled. I have been painting birds lately. I hope you all are doing well and each of you has a Happy healthy new year. Love to you, Diana

Painting in my Recliner and Bunionectomy

Here I am sitting in the recliner.  I had a Bunionectomy 3 weeks ago. I have spent so much time in the recliner with my foot in the air. I tried after a week to Paint there and found out I could. Now I'm not going to do a commission here but I can do a simple painting.  Amazing. I'm doing better but still must keep the foot elevated. My chicken daily is still something I can d . Here is one of my palette knife painting in Watercolor during Carrie Jacobson class.  I just wet each color and dip my palette knife in and scmer it on. My love to each of you. Upcoming show is Eastern Shore of Va Artisan Guild Tour. VIRTUAL THIS THANKSGIVING WEEKEND.  HOPE YOU WILL LOOK AT THE SHOW THANKS SO MUCH,LOVE, DIANA

It was lovely. I am raising Monarchs again this year. My cousin Mike Hart died recently and they remind me of him and my Aunt Pat his mother . I love them both. Aunt Pat gave me some milkweed the other day . Now I have 10 chryslises and one caterpillar . Here is one of my chicken paintings in my series and one of my watercolor palette knife painting from my class with Carrie Jacobson. I hope you are all doing well. I send my love to you from Sadie and I.

Little Wren Painting and Sadie

Hi, I painted most of today . I really love the little birds that come to visit our feeders. The Carolina Wren is so mischievous it is one of my favorites . Went with Sadie on our path into the forest to gather leaves. Sadie takes a toy outside  when we go out. I  usually have my coffee cup. I get the feeling she thinks that is my toy. 😄 happy autumn.
