Whirlwind Saturday!

Here I am with my paintings Saturday night at Norfolk Academy Art Show Opening.
Here is my booth at the Women's Club Art Show on Saturday.
HI! Saturday was a whirlwind. It was fun but hard. I sold 2 little paintings at the Women's Club and then John and I packed up everything and took it all home and unpacked it. I rested for 45 minutes and Beth, my dear friend, came and drove me to Norfolk to the other show. This was 1 hour and 20 minutes away. It was a wonderful show and I sold the painting to the bottom on the right, "He gave me flowers." We had fun and then stopped for supper at a tiny adorable restaurant called Leaping Lizard on Shore Drive. Finally got home at 11 and I'm still exhausted. My back, all my joints you name it hurts, I'm wiped out. Going to rest some more today.

Yesterday I took a walk to loosen my back and came back dear Sadie, our lab,-- you know-- got in deer something.. a horrible stink-- so I had to bathe her.. the rascal crawled under the porch so I did too to get her clean. She smells like a fresh breeze now! Ha!!!

Tell me what you are painting and doing. love to each of you, Diana

An Orange Cow in Watercolor--plus 2 ART SHOWS SAT! Holy Cow..

My newest cow original, 8x10, framed $99, she has the potato masher nose print.
HI ! Last week was busy. I had a class at ESO on Thursday and somehow the week zoomed by. This weekend we had Clay, our son, home for a visit. I always try to clean extra( I really need to clean extra always but paint more than anything) and cook things he likes. Like we all do when we have loved ones coming!! I made chicken salad, he loves that.

I had to put brush to paper while he was here so I did a quick wash and then placed my potato masher on the wet wash, thinking nose. No other thoughts just nose. Can you see it on her nose?? I truly was getting sadder by degree as the day went on as I knew he was going back home so I think the painting picked up on it but I feel that makes it sorta endearing. Ha ha..Tell me what you think.

I've ordered frames this morning so I'm going to frame it for the Women's Club Art Show this Saturday, April 25, The show will be in Onley,Va. at the Women's Clubhouse and also they will be serving lunch and have gorgeous plants and we'll have 17 artists there displaying our work. 9am-3pm....

and another show that night. Norfolk Academy Art Show and Sale Opening, at Norfolk Academy in Norfolk,Va. from 6-8pm. I'm going to that too. I have 4 originals there. I'm going to be wiped out completely afterward. Please check the dates and times at right! Thank you , love to each of you,Diana

Hummingbird and Dogwood, original watercolor in process, by Diana

Harborton, original watercolor, $99 by Diana

Hey, Sadie, my Labrador, and I have been painting each day morning and afternoon to get ready for the Women's Club Art Show this upcoming Saturday. In the afternoon we take my paints outside to sit in the sun and paint. Sadie chews on whatever while I work. Yesterday, she ran into the forest, came back with a piece of plastic pipe from a drain field.. ate a bug and after I retrieved the pipe, both she and I had a Maalox. (anti-acid chewy for upset stomach)..

Here are a few of the paintings I'm working on.

PS. I've joined Facebook. I don't know what I'm doing so if you have any tips please.. tell me. I did it for advertising my watercolors.. Talk to you soon. Love to you,Diana

Nice Show

hi! Yesterday's art  show was lovely. We had tons of artists and lots of customers and the weather was nice too. We all sold some things,so that was good. Here's the painting I had started before the show and hoped to have at the show(but I'll have it finished for the Art on The Farm).. I had picked some wild dogwood from our yard and the hummingbirds have come and are zipping thru the back porch so I wanted to paint them too.

This is Sadie, from Friday night. I had taken her outside to do her bathroom duties,it was dark. She smelled some animal and hightailed it up the steps and to the back door. I was there with her and didn't see anything.. but poor baby she was terrified. She raced into the house and ran to the den and got as close to the cat as she could. Ha ha.. poor old Rudy, our 19year old cat.. ha ha..

What are you doing this weekend? Take care, love,Diana

Art Show This Weekend and Sadie Got Stuck

HI, I just sent my email for the upcoming art show this Saturday, It's the Women's Club Juried Art and Craft Show.I finished the orchid painting by adding a male hummingbird and that extra line of orchids.-- This is the photo I sent with the invitation to the show.. There will be artists, food and lovely plants. I've got an inside spot. It's also the weekend of Garden Tour, which means bus loads of people coming to certain old or unique homes to enjoy touring the homes and gardens. Hope they all stop by for a cookie, plant and painting!!  :)

Sadie will stay with John.. John's grumbling some. This morning she got caught underneath the kitchen cook stove.. I got her out,she was fine and didn't mind at all but I didn't want her under there with that large cord and plug.. She likes to chew on electrical cords.. We're working on that.. I made a mistake last night and pulled her up into the recliner with me and we both fell asleep all snuggled together.. so today she decided to get up there by herself. Oh my.. I don't want her to do that so I'll stop and get down in the floor with her to snuggle.. I'm not sure who is disciplining who.. ha ha. Talk to you soon, Love,Diana
