New Painting

Hydrangeas and Hummingbird, framed 16x20, $300.

Here's part of my flower patch, these are Bee Balm which the hummingbirds love.

Sadie found a bug by the back door. Living in the woods we have all kinds!

Here's my new painting.I've propped it up to look at it for a few days before I frame it. The hydrangeas took a long time to paint but I enjoyed them so much. I decided on a hummingbird as we have so many now zooming around. I have 3 feeders out,one by the front steps and 2 by the back porch. Sadie doesn't seem to mind them,thank goodness. Now the lizards and frogs she loves to chase and hop with. I have had a few stray sunflowers come up in the garden and she broke one last night so I'm going to have to paint it today. A small yellow with green center sunflower, it will be a delight! Better go get my dishes done then on to the painting. Tell me what  you are doing today! love to each of you,Diana

Hot Flowers in Watercolor

New watercolor painting I'm working on now..

John gave me flowers for our anniversary and ice cream.

Hi Everyone, I've been working on this painting all week. I drew it on a great pour. Then struggled with the flowers composition, adding a few garden flowers to the mix really made it difficult. I did it anyway. Ha. Then colors. I'm in a show called HOT at Stage Door Gallery. I'm painting with HOT colors in mind. I changed the color of the vase to not distract from the pour and colors. I'm really thinking way too much. Just paint it. Anyway. Here is what I've come up with so far. As you can see I'm still working on it, but I'm very pleased with it now. I may add a male hummingbird  sitting on the bottom tulip,just because I love the little rascals and they are everywhere here now,zooming by. Sadie is keeping me company after she chomped up my flower pot outside. Tell me what you are doing today.

Setting Up for The Art Show --New Hummingbird Watercolors

HI, Today is going to be a whirlwind. I have to set up for the Women's Club Art Show in Onley,Va. The car is packed.. thank you John. I don't know what I'd do without him. I finished and framed 8 paintings yesterday. So now just tons of coffee, and slowly unload all that stuff by myself and set it all up. I'll get it done. Slowly---ha ha.. If you are nearby come see the show. It's delightful, lots of plants and baked good and art..beautiful art.

Last Little Hummingbird Watercolor

HI! I just finished my little hummingbird. This pumpkin is the same one from the last painting..from Mama's garden. It's been sitting on my art table but I'm going to put it on the dining room table now. The hummingbirds are here but it seems there aren't as many. Here they leave at the end of September to travel back to Mexico. I'll miss the little ones. I added another pumpkin shoulder so I could put the stem and him off center and it would look right. I think it's fine.

So far today Sadie has eaten: 1.My black and pink sock. rescued barely
                                             2, a pinecone, didn't swallow, just shredded
                                             3, a stick, the same
                                             4 the twist tie off the bread at lunch. Thank goodness I pried it out of her mouth,
                                             5.her regular food
                                             6 the cat's regular food, she wasn't supposed to
                                             7 Montana mud from the well
                                             8 one pebble from the driveway. I hope she didn't swallow that. I couldn't get to her in time..
What a dog... Have a happy weekend. Today the weather is perfect here. Sunny and cool.. just right. love to you,Diana Tell me what you are doing.
