Happy Father's Day!

HI, Here is a photo from our Paint Out at Bob and Sara Lentz's home near Pungoteague,Va. This was a gathering of the Eastern Shore Art League, we all brought a dish and shared and Bob and Sara had chicken. I took my Fresh Apple Cake. We all painted inside,as it was a very rainy day but their yard is right on the water nestled in Loblolly Pines, with flowers everywhere. I was so disappointed my camera batteries died but I did enjoy painting one of his Japanese iris and had a fantastic lunch with friends. Pictured above from left to right,Willie, Adelaide, Me, Monelle, Dottie and Mary. Basil, their beagle wandered around and visited with us. ha ha. Wishing  you all a Happy Father's Day! Love to you,Diana
My newest hummingbird. I did add a few green leaves in the right hand bottom.

Clay and Half of Sadie
HI! I'm sorry I haven't been posting or visiting lately, just seems like I've been busy delivering paintings and taking care of Rudy our 20 year old kitty and Sadie our 6 month old labrador. Where has the summer gone?! It zipped by didn't it.  I wanted to capture the hummingbirds before they left so I've finally finished this little painting. I added the glaze of iridescent this morning and touched up the flowers. Clay, our son, is home visiting this weekend. We've enjoyed him so much. Sadie loves to play ball with him... and it tires her out! YEAH!!! ha ha.. I've been sketching while the men watch the UFC,it's mixed martial arts. I can visit while I do, I got Sadie with her head under Clay's foot,Clay talking, John's slipper and leg.. you know all the important things in life! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. It's Labor Day Weekend here in the USA,which means we celebrate the working men and women and the end of summer. Love to you and I'll be visiting your blogs soon I promise, Diana

One Wing Painted!!!

Hi, I got a wing painted. A little hummingbird wing in this watercolor, I'm so happy. I did this during puppy nap time. I used iridescent watercolor paint with my watercolors.Love that these birds are so iridescent and vivid themselves. The hummingbirds are coming constantly through my back porch, up, down, to one feeder, then the next. It's a circus in and around the porch. I enjoy it so much.

I've got to put flowers in the watercolor with the hummingbird. It's a commission and I need to get it done. But as you know so much has been going on with Mama in the hospital, she is doing much better today.

I had to do my grocery shopping this afternoon. Sadie, the lab puppy, got a new lion from the store. It's a squeaky toy and she squeaked it constantly until I opened the refrigerator to put the eggs away... and I looked she had put it on the bottom shelf and laid down in front of it.. I had to take a photo.. so cute, here she is at the window by my art table, waiting for John this morning. I am so hoping she'll doze off so I can work on the painting! ha.. ha.. Hope you are enjoying this gorgeous summer day! love to you,Diana

Nice Show

hi! Yesterday's art  show was lovely. We had tons of artists and lots of customers and the weather was nice too. We all sold some things,so that was good. Here's the painting I had started before the show and hoped to have at the show(but I'll have it finished for the Art on The Farm).. I had picked some wild dogwood from our yard and the hummingbirds have come and are zipping thru the back porch so I wanted to paint them too.

This is Sadie, from Friday night. I had taken her outside to do her bathroom duties,it was dark. She smelled some animal and hightailed it up the steps and to the back door. I was there with her and didn't see anything.. but poor baby she was terrified. She raced into the house and ran to the den and got as close to the cat as she could. Ha ha.. poor old Rudy, our 19year old cat.. ha ha..

What are you doing this weekend? Take care, love,Diana
