She got her head under the curtain silly girl.. next show is at Liesl Frederick Gallery in Onancock, Va. On 59th Market St. The Reception  will be Saturday,  Nov. 3 rd from 3to 5 pm. This is Mighty Miniatures,  thankfully I have them painted and ready to go. ALL are welcome to display
I can't believe  it is November  again. Time does seem to fly.. tell me what is going on in your life now. My love to you,Diana

Art Show was Great!

Crabs, new original watercolor, sold at show on Saturday!

Sunflowers, new original 8x10, from lovely sunflowers at Norfolk Botanical Garden.

Sadie.
HI ! Well the Festival of the Arts was this past weekend. We had a good turn out of people. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us. I did well and sold a few, around 6-7 originals. Friday night was lovely with wine flowing and the food was luscious. I had to pack up by myself in the dark that night which was a challenge. Ha.. John couldn't come... but I had a flashlight and quite a few other artists did too so we made out fine.  John did help me set up and break down on Saturday. I was so thankful he did. My back unfortunately is just bad. I've been hurting since the show and resting on the heating pad or walking slowly around the backyard to stretch it.

I'm so thankful for such a lovely show and so many dear supporters and friends.
Now I'll rest for awhile, Sadie was so sad this weekend when I left her. She loves John but she paints with me! ha ha..

Wishing you a wonderful Monday. love to you, Diana

Pistachio Shells Create Texture on Watercolor

hi, We've had the plumber here today. He had to cut off the water to fix a faucet outside. This is the one Sadie has been digging under.. nothing like a muddy dog in the winter time.

I got my paintings up to the show this morning and finished a little landscape this afternoon. Now the water is back on so I'll be catching up with dishes and get supper. So glad I've got some leftovers, aren't they wonderful.

John brought home some pistachios last night and I was charmed by the shells.. and naturally thought of watercolor. ha ha.. So I laid a wet wash down on my watercolor paper, applied some thalo, opera and cadmium yellow dark and placed the shells on the wet wash. You can see what happened. It's lovely, I used them right side up and upside down and both worked, after the wash was dry I gently removed them.. I love it. I want to do a large painting with some on it so I'm saving the shells.Silly, but so much fun!!

I saw 2 amazing bald eagles flying over a cemetery in Onancock this morning. They were gorgeous. I'm so tired. No more painting. I'm done.Wiped out..

Hope you have a great weekend.. love to each of you! Wish me luck at the shows. love,Diana

Just a Little Chickadee and Puppy News.

HI, This afternoon we went up to Onancock for a while. I took the bottom photo there at the wharf. I haven't done much painting today so I started this little chickadee. I've wet part of the top, dropped in thalo blue, and added kosher and ice cream salt . This will make little star shapes of snow. He looks cold and I feel it,too.

Puppy news. It's sad again. The dog,Molly was supposed to be pregnant but she wasn't ... so no puppies(we waited and waited). I was so very disappointed. So I've called someone else and they are trying to get their dog pregnant.. not in heat yet, when they do , they'll save me a yellow one. It's going to be a while. But when the puppies are born I'll get to go visit them until they can leave their mother and they are close enough, that will be great. I'm trying to be positive about it. I wanted you to know.

So tell me what you are painting. talk tomorrow.Diana
