New Heron Watercolor in the Works!!

New Heron Watercolor in the works..
Sadie helping by eating watercolor paper. It's Arches she has good taste literally.

Hi, I've been drawing and painting this new heron painting. I drizzled the blues and yellow ochre in the background first. It's not finished. I need to add more foot detail and decide if I add anything else. I don't want it to be busy. I've got it propped  up so I can see it.. sometimes walking by I'll see what it needs... what do you think??

Sadie has been restless, the last couple of days have been very hot and humid outside so we go out but she needs more exercise. That and she will eat anything. I had placed this paper in the rocker and she came and munched it up. Atta Girl...

I'm going to frame some smaller paintings today. (They are easier!! Ha ha!) Next week is the art show at Ker Place so I've got lots to frame and I'm planning my Sunflower Class at NBG.. so that will be fun. Talk to you soon.   Love to you,Diana

Herons in Blue,Almost there

Here we go. I've worked again on my herons today. I like the abstract blues wandering thru so I think I'm almost done. What do you think?? I want the herons
to stand out but not be overdone. I"m going to look at it for a few days and decide. The blues here are ultramarine blue and thalo blue. Those are the only blues I use.  What blues do you like?? Talk to you tomorrow... Sadie, the puppy is sulking, she just got her flea med. put on her back..love to each of you,Diana

New Heron Watercolor

Hi, Here is the heron watercolor finished, I think. I'll continue to look at it for a few days. Tell me what you think.. I didn't go with the hibiscus in the painting. I had seen cattails the other day in a ditch in Exmore , a small town 7 miles from here. I did not pick them from there I just used memory to add them to the painting..  It's been raining most of today. I couldn't decide what to paint so I painted a lovely rose.I'm still having trouble with the camera but maybe I'll be able to show it to you tomorrow!

Sadie has been pretty good today. She still wants to play now-- I guess she still has some energy. I lost mine about 20 years ago. ha ha..but I do have coffee!. Talk to you tomorrow. Love to you,Diana

Surgery for Sadie and Heron Continues...

Out my window

Sadie's baby photo.
HI! I did paint some on the heron this morning. Just a little here and there with colors, I didn't put in the grasses or anything with him. The painting definitely needs something in that corner. Maybe I can get some grasses, I'll look around.

Tomorrow am I'll be taking Sadie to the vet. She is having her 2 canine bottom teeth pulled. I'm nervous about it, I hope it doesn't affect her bottom jaw. They are in the wrong place and are cutting into the top of her mouth. Dr. did suggest braces.. but we can't do that. I started laughing when he suggested it and he was serious. So she'll be up there for that most of the day, she's such a sweetheart. I will miss her terribly but may get to paint more. I'll talk to you tomorrow. love to you,Diana

Bette, Elizabeth,Veronica and Marion at NBG Class yesterday!

Watercolor in Progress. This is the Demo I started yesterday.
HI!! Elizabeth sent me the photo above. Thank you!! Here is my class from yesterday, Bette, Elizabeth,Veronica and Marion.I enjoyed it so much. They did great!! Here's the demonstration I started and I've worked on it some this afternoon too. I've still got more to do.. There is a flower in the corner too. I'll see I may just opt for grasses.  I finally got the camera going.. It needed batteries..  The weather here is gorgeous. I wish you could see the Hickory in our front yard. The leaves on it are Cad Yellow Light and Cad Yellow Dark. The sun is shining thru them with the burnt sienna pine needles and the purplish sky it's gorgeous. Talk to you tomorrow. love,Diana

Heron Watercolor,Day 5

Well, I don't think you've seen this. I was painting and took photos but can't seem to download the photos on the computer now. Machines don't always do what I want them to do. It could be I don't know enough about them. ha ha. Well, I was painting a scene I started at Class Saturday. It's of a gazebo with hydranea bushes surrounding it. So pretty. You'll see it eventually. I may have to go delete 712 photos first but I'll work it out.  But this is one of my herons, I adore herons. Usually see one as we go over a tiny bridge (Shields Bridge) heading into Exmore. Keep painting. and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Take care,Diana
