What happens during a snow storm. .
Hi, well we have had a time. But things are looking up, what you say??
Sadie, my lab, had surgery on her other knee,it has gotten infected so she is on 2 antibotics. To help in her recovery, I am icing her knee 3 times a day and dispensing pills, and doing gentle physical therapy. As it so happened, our kitty Cupcake slipped out the door into the world of aggressive feral cats, raccoons and what ever dropped by. I set traps, and John and I called and looked for her but when she did see us she would run the other way...well, she is now back in.. sardines in the trap enticed her. I believe it was the answer to many prayers.
Sadie s knee is still infectioned but better. Tomorrow I am teaching at ESO in Belle Haven, Va. I haven't been able to paint much, however I did finish ORCHIDS. Getting organized for tomorrow, looking forward to it. Talk to you sooner than later, love, Diana

Let it Melt! Let it Melt!
HI ! Well I'm tired of the snow as I'm sure most of you are. I've been painting Chickadees in the snow. We've had so many beautiful birds to our feeders. Cupcake -our kitty- has been so excited running and peering out at them. Sadie, our lab, has enjoyed the cold weather too.
I've frozen a few washes outside as we got down to 9 degrees one night. Just put the watercolor wash out as quickly as possible and run back inside. Always weigh them down so they don't blow away. Had that happen. Well John wants an omelette so it is lunchtime. I'll talk to you soon. Stay warm and well.love and hugs to each of you,Diana

New Orchid Watercolor, Sadie sleeping, and Cupcake!
Orchid Watercolor. This is the one I started at The Eastville Inn Art Opening.
I got Sadie to nap after we played ball outside in the frosty weather.
Here is Cupcake. She is a talker and very sweet.
They are having a gorgeous orchid display and it's free to go into the garden for 2 weeks.. so go if you are nearby.
Sadie finally got tired after we played a lot of ball in the backyard. It's cold outside, I had 2 coats , gloves, and 2 scarves, to keep me warm. I looked like a walking balloon.
Here is our Cupcake. She is much prettier than this. The photo is blurry.. but the markings on her face are lovely. Ok I did say she was the ugliest kitten I had ever seen ..but she isn't.
Hope you are staying warm. I'm going to go make some Christmas Decaf Starbucks. Talk to you soon. Love to you,Diana

As Good As it Gets.
Cupcake, our new kitty!
Here's Cupcake, she is still living in the bathroom but lets us pet her and rubs our leg so she is doing better. Not with Sadie, our dog, she doesn't like Sadie at all. We've got to work on that.
Saturday, I was invited to "Cream of the Crop", an art auction at Artsenter Theatre and Stage Door Gallery. I gave them one of my Heron paintings, " Wachapreague Herons". It was such a lovely evening. I went by myself, John doesn't like Art Functions much. He's been to so many. Wine, Jambalaya, Sweet Potato Bisquits with ham, ham, Mixed Salad, and Apple Pie ... Lots of wine. I know I said that. This was the menu. Larry and Trina Veber did the auction and were wonderful. We sat right in the theatre by the stage. That is such a lovely place. The money earned will support the Artsenter Theatre and Stage Door Gallery in Cape Charles. Here's what I wore. Ok I almost didn't show you because I look huge. But I'm starting a diet now.!! YES.. and then I look around and realize the holidays are almost here..
This weekend is ESAL Winter Art Show at the Stage Door Gallery in Cape Charles. I've got to make an Apple Cake for that to server. I'll be there with my 2 new paintings.
The leaves here are gorgeous, such oranges, yellows and peach... and the smell in the woods is heavenly. Sadie and I walk there every morning for a little while.
Take care , love to each of you,Diana
