He was my parents dog and I do dog portraits, cat portraits, cow portraits.. you get the picture. This is Snowball, the kitty, her owner works in a newspaper office so Snowball does too sometimes.. These aren't brand new. I have been painting this week but I've been doing art errands and so I'll show you something new soon. But I did want to tell you I'm now showing my work in The Red Queen Gallery in Onancock,Va. It's a lovely gallery. I hope you can stop by and see my work and the other beautiful things they have. You can go to their website. It's www.redqueengallery.com.

I was working on a still life of tomatoes this afternoon and when I went to make supper couldn't find any tomatoes.. they were all on my art table.. I was making homemade pizza and was still thinking about the still life and so I poured the sauce right off the pizza.. I scraped it back. Haha.. what a time. The pizza was good.. and I made 2 so guess what's for supper tomorrow night. take care and talk soon, Diana

Peaches and Plumber ,Oh MY!

Well, this has been a morning. We had a leak in the bathroom at 4am. Luckily my husband discovered it before it became a nightmare. So we have the plumber coming this morning. So it is hurry up and wait and wait.... Here is a new peach painting I did in a class I taught yesterday as a demonstration. Just something fun and different. Divide the paper into 1/4inch squares and use different colors to paint the peach.. remembering the shadows and variations in color. It does take a lot of time, however and patience, I still need to do some touch ups. The butterfly is one I did in the hospital when Gran had her last surgery. I haven't finished it yet. I paint while I wait it helps me not focus on the big thing just the small painting. I still miss her everyday. I always will. The iris is one I quickly did after getting my new brush. Talk to you after the plumber leaves if he gets here. Diana

Easter Morning

Hi, Happy Easter Morning, Pictured is a duck painting! Ok a decoy painting I was working on late one night this week. I actually got to see the full moon go across the sky out the window as I worked on my painting. This painting is of my great grandfather's (Old Man George of Wachapreague)decoy. You can see the decoy in the photo as well. The Chincoteague Decoy and Art Show ended yesterday and after 2 days I am truly wiped out, my back is not good. It was a lovely show, and I enjoyed seeing the sunset on the new bridge as I came home one night. Such pinks, purples, blues and reflections in the water, it was gorgeous. We stopped and had dinner at Annies
in Parksley,Va. on the way home after breaking down, and I had the steak and shrimp kabobs.. delightful, such a warm, cozy place and the food was so good. Well I hope each of you have a wonderful Easter and a spring filled with blessings. talk to you soon, Diana

Watercolor Of E.S. Nursery

The dogs and I walked in the nursery today. It is a beautiful, warm, sunny day. Here is a photo of my watercolor painting of this Eastern Shore nursery. It was a commission. Today the lob lolly pine trees are swaying in the breeze and both dogs had a delightful time sniffing and exploring as I enjoyed the time with them and nature. Last summer we walked there and came upon a row of gorgeous Japanese Hydrangeas, I was in awe of the beauty and stopped for a couple of minutes to look, when I was ready to continue I looked and Daisy, our lab had taken time to enjoy herself too. She was laying in a HUGE mud puddle near my feet looking up at me!That's my girl! talk soon, Diana

Radishes

HI! Well, I didn't find any flowers to paint. So.. I found some wonderful radishes. I love the color and had a pour that worked beautifully, a sprinkle of iridescent paint-- this is the powder form-- on the radishes in places and here they are. Hope you like them. Don't you love the bold colors of radishes!? Well, I'll read a little tonight, then back to painting tomorrow. Talk to you Soon.Diana
