Day Lily Watercolor
Hi, I think the computer may blow up. It's roaring so loud. I'll do this quickly. I've painted a day lily on Masa paper on 140lb cold press Arches watercolor paper. The flower was so lovely in my front yard I had to pick it before Sadie ate it. She has been a rascal today. Oh my. Thank goodness she is asleep now. I've used Cad red,Cad yellow deep and light, permanent rose, opera, and thindago violet. Hope each of you have a wonderful weekend. Love to you,Diana

Lilies in Watercolor
HI, I'm in a slump. A painting slump.. But I decided to push and do this yellow day lily, Sherrie I held the blackeyed susan up to the painting but it was too small and didn't fit with the lilies. So tell me what you think. I added the burnt sienna under the yellow day lily to define it some more. It became lost next to the bolder ones. I'll look at it for a few days to see if I'm finished..
Here is a lily from my garden. I'm in awe that it's here and it's so gorgeous. I've tried not to look at it when Sadie was looking. I can just see her running around the backyard in glee with my stargazer lily in her mouth. ha ha. Not so far!! Thank goodness. Here is Sadie on the Eastern Shore News. Talk to you soon. love,Diana

Does One Petal Count?
HI! Does one petal count? I picked this day lily in my front yard. It's my favorite. The colors are so vibrant.I wet the petal then used Cadmium yellow dark, Cad.Red,Thindigio Violet, and a touch of Cad.Orange.I used my pencil to draw the veins while it was wet, this works wonderfully for little veins. I've painted just one petal and it's closing up. I do have another bud on it... if someone doesn't eat it.
Sadie, our puppy, picked/ok,broke- another day lily today and it had 5 buds on it. I cringed and brought it inside hoping something will bloom in here. Sadie is also pestering dear Rudy, our 19 year old cat.. Every once and awhile I'll see a paw come out of the box.. she did get a toy dropped on her.. There's a lot of hissing going on.
Love to you,Diana
