My Azalea Class

Here's the class Saturday at NBG, We painted azaleas as you can see!
Hi, Saturday's class was wonderful. I demonstrated and we did quick exercises in washes, poured watercolor, negative painted, drew and painted azaleas, and ended by doing 20 minute landscapes right out our window. We view the little pond that has huge vibrant pink azaleas( the size of my kitchen )with loblolly pines and dogwood surrounding it. The hummingbird garden is right out the window and we saw both the male and female Ruby Throated Hummingbird. We ate our lunch out in the garden and a few of us did the landscapes outside ,as well. A truly lovely day with lovely people.  Everyone did a wonderful job in class.Today I rested and watched a movie. Tell me about your weekend. love,Diana

Ps Sadie played and played ball today. Her last adventure today involved a very smelly roll in the woods, so she's sweet and been washed again. I hope the fur doesn't come off.

Better

I filled up my palette with fresh color just now.

Here's Sadie, sleeping with her foot pressed up on mine when I sit down at the art table.
HI, Thank each of you for your beautiful messages to my last post. Things are going better. If only we were close enough for a cup of coffee and a visit I'd be pouring my heart out to each of you. You are dear friends and so supportive. Thank you. Yes,things are better.

I"ve just filled my palette for class tomorrow. I'm teaching at Norfolk Botanical Garden on Azaleas. They are blooming in all pinks, whites, and reds.. sounds gorgeous. I'm looking forward to seeing it and painting it and helping others paint it.

I took a long walk today in the nursery across from our house. I saw paw prints of deer and raccoon.( The raccoon prints look like little hands,so adorable.  Laura, my daughter did a school report on paw prints when she was 9 or so...amazing what we learn from our kids.) The deer prints are more like 2 elongated V s,delicate and lovely.
Nature is such a gift, isn't it.

Sending you each a hug, love and have a delightful weekend. Tell me about it. Diana
