HI!. I had a little camera trouble so I can't show you my new daffodil painting. I'll get it straight I hope! :) I did want to show you my potato masher imprint.. I put 3 of them on this wet wash and left them until it had dried for a different texture. Here it is. The reason I have 3 potato mashers is 2 of them were my grandmothers.
Yesterday I went to the Stage Door Gallery in Cape Charles. March Madness is the new show. Only paintings $100 and under for this show. I took down quite a few and while I was signing the paintings into the show, a lady from Portsmouth bought 3 of my little landscapes..I'm now all out of mini landscapes. I'm tickled.. I left my Silly Moo and 7 more little paintings. The opening for the show is this Saturday night from 6pm-8pm.
I will work on the camera.. We had some bad news--we found out last week, my Dad has the beginnings of Alzheimer's We're all pretty shook up as you can imagine. Life is sometimes so hard, isn't it. Enjoy every moment you've got and Drink green tea.. love,Diana
What a mixed bag of news. I am very sorry to read about your dad, Diana. But very happy to hear about you painting sales. Good for you!
ReplyDeletePrayers for your Father, you, and all your family
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the sales!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your bad news. I'm sure that was very difficult to hear.
So that is what the potato mashers are like. I've been intrigued since I heard about them. Great idea and texture. Sorry to hear your news. My husband's mum has it and she is in late stages so I know what you are going through. Take care all. xx
ReplyDeleteDiana, so sorry to hear about your Dad. Enjoy as much time with him as you can. Your paintings can be a way to communicate with him.
ReplyDeleteThis painting technique sure is interesting. Sharing your experiments with textures in watercolor gives me confidence to try new ideas.
Hugs,
Nanina
I am so sorry to hear about your dad, Diana. I know that will be a tough road. Love the potato masher texture and thanks for telling me why you have 3 of them. I wondered. I've never used one of these. Even when I was a kid, my mom always used an electric beater for mashed potatoes and I've always done the same.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - I am so sorry. My Sister-in-Law has just found out the exact same thing about her Mum... I so wish they would hurry up and find a cure...
ReplyDeleteThe potato masher print is fun! I'd never have thought of it :0)
Diana - my heart goes out to you and your family...I will be certainly looking up for you. One never knows why things happen the way they do. By the way love the texture you have gotten with the potato masher. Take care. Love Debbie
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to create texture! Glad your exhibit was a success. And so sorry to hear about your dad. My dad had dementia, which is similar. I know how hard it will be for your family. And yes, every day is precious. Take care.
