This is a very simple maple leaf I did. I still can't get the camera to cooperate. I'm still working on the scene from the garden. I love painting leaves. We have so many beautiful ones. In our yard we have oak, maple, sassafras, hickory, American Holy, loblolly(long needle) pines, short needle pines, and tons that I don't know the names of. I drew this leaf and it's shadow, then simply wet the leaf and dropped in color. Using my pencil I drew the veins on the leaf. So much color, and so fall. Hope I can get the blasted camera working for tomorrow. talk to you soon, Diana
What a lovely autumn leaf it is, Diana. I love it! Love your new photo on the blog too.
ReplyDeleteThose colors absolutely glow. So nice how you let the watercolor do its own beautiful thing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and simple, Dinana - love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely Diana. I'm going to do this next Autumn with my students...painting a leaf and its shadow. It's a great exercise for observation. This year we concentrated on getting textures within the leaf.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it good that we always have next Autumn to look forward to when we can look at leaves again?!
