HI, The show Saturday was nice. They had a lovely booth of homegrown vegetables.(small farm grown) I fell in love with the eggplants.-Naturally to paint. and I got a few green tomatoes we ate last night.
I've got to paint the eggplants today.I've had to move them into the fridge to keep them fresh and noticed dear hubby has pushed them around so-- one is upside down.. Soon--- I must move with speed! Ha.. I don't move fast.. :) anyway.
I had some of my wonderful patrons come to the show and some dear students..one from Hampton( a 2 hour drive) WOW.. Sold a little.
I had the monarch drawn mostly before I got to the show and painted there for awhile( I taped the watercolor paper onto the cover of my John Pike Palette, then used that as a little desk),I finished it this morning. I found a beautiful leaf from our crepe myrtle tree and painted that in it as an accent.
Today I've just got back from my walk and gathered 3 mushrooms,2 acorns and 2 day lily plants from our woods. Will they go into an eggplant painting?? I'll see.(just kidding).. but on to the eggplants.. talk to you soon,Diana
have fun with the eggplants sweetie.....
ReplyDeleteI must confess that I've never seen eggplants shaped like these! Interesting to be sure! Love the start to your butterfly too, Diana...for some reason, I'm getting such a warm sense of autumn from your post...maybe the things you picked up on your walk...the harvest of eggplants, something! LOL
ReplyDeleteI like the little leaf with the butterfly. Enjoyed seeing your lastest paintings and the egg plants do look like a wonderful subject. I collected some green acorns and sycamore seeds, will I find time. The beach walk on Sunday was so tempting, feathers and seaweeds, have to decide which to draw.

Dear Diana - love your Monarch butterly with the leaf. I have never seen eggplants of that size and shape before. Looks like they will make a great subject for a painting. Thanks for always keeping me inspired. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness you eggplants look like purple pumpkins!! I know that sounds ignorant but my goodness they look very fun to paint can't wait to see what you create with them!
