On to a new painting!
Hi, I just finished my peony painting. Let me know what you think! It got rather involved with the leaves but I'm pleased with it.
I'm ready to work on something else now. I took some photos this week of places on the Eastern Shore the first one is in Belle Haven,Va. and the other in Onancock,Va. I want to have 4 or 5 little ES minis for the show as well as many more watercolors at the Red Queen Gallery! Maybe one of these for a mini...
Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! take care, Diana
Its lovely Diana, love the hummingbird-are they DS irridecence paints?love the faded background too
ReplyDeleteThank you Claire, No it's Winsor Newton Irridesent watercolor medium.. it comes in a clear bottle. It's a glaze. I painted the hummer and when it was dry I took a tiny bit of this irridescent paint with a little water and put it over the hummer where I wanted it irridescent.. I also added this powder which changes from green to yellow while it was wet... a friend gave it to me.. Don't know what kind But I do love it! Thank you, love,Diana
ReplyDeleteHi Diana. Beautiful colors, esp the reds! And I love the sinuous quality of the way the flowers and leaves weave across the surface. And again, I really like the way you put shadow or ghost shapes in the background--that's brilliant!
